The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Soldiers Table
Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the urban setting.
Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of characters who will separate from the main group to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear out of place, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, striking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to head to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
