PSG Overcomes Olympique de Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Claim French Super Cup in the Middle East.
The Parisian club has now claimed the season-opening cup on 14 different occasions.
The Parisian giants needed a dramatic equaliser followed by a perfect penalty shootout to get past Marseille in the Gulf and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions title.
The Champions League holders seemed to be sailing towards a straightforward win in the match between the Ligue 1 winners and the French Cup holders after the French winger found the scoring in the opening stages.
However, Marseille struck two times late to take a shock lead. First, Mason Greenwood converted from the penalty spot, before the defender inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.
In a breathtaking twist of events, Goncalo Ramos snatched a vital equaliser in the final seconds to force the match into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then stood as the key figure, saving decisive attempts from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.
From the spot, Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all converted successfully for PSG to complete a convincing penalty win.
The record champions Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille after achieving a league and cup double, have now lifted this competition for the 12th time in the last 13 years.
