Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland found themselves without power on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the state, generating wind gusts topping 109km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Extensive Destruction
Locals witnessed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Victoria's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, around one thousand residents in Victoria also faced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area recorded its most precipitation in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams received 598 calls for help across the area, primarily for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

Climate Outlook
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this week as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was expected to become the wettest day, with continued severe weather risk predicted across various areas of both regions.

Public health experts alerted that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
